• What is the difference between Vera and Vera Playa?

  Vera is the inland town, Moorish in origin, with a Spanish year-round population and a weekly market. Vera Playa is the coastal development a few kilometres east, low-rise, international and seasonal. Buyers shop both under the same name and should be clear which they are viewing.

• What is the weather like in Vera?

  This is the driest and one of the sunniest parts of mainland Spain, with well over three hundred days of sun and very little annual rainfall. It is the main reason buyers choose Almería over the Costa Blanca, and the main reason gardens here need irrigation.

• Is Vera good for a smaller budget?

  Better than most towns we cover. Entry sits around €170,000 and one and two-bedroom stock is more available here than further north, so a compact holiday base is realistic under €200,000 in a way it is not in Los Alcázares or Ciudad Quesada.

• How far is Vera from an airport?

  Almería airport is roughly an hour by car, Murcia's Corvera about the same in the other direction, and Alicante around two hours. The double option matters for flight choice, but Vera is undeniably further from a terminal than the Costa Blanca towns.

• Is Vera Playa a naturist resort?

  Part of it is. Vera Playa contains one of Spain's largest designated naturist areas, clearly bounded and signposted, alongside conventional development. It is worth knowing which zone a specific property sits in before viewing, and we will tell you without being asked.
